Meet Heather
Hi! I’m Heather. My work is guided by my longstanding interest in how people develop throughout life and how relationships, experiences, and environments shape who we become. Alongside my clinical work, I am involved in research and value integrating emerging knowledge with thoughtful, evidence-based care.
Before entering private practice, I spent several years working in a variety of mental health settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds. These experiences reinforced my belief that meaningful change begins with understanding ourselves more deeply and developing greater flexibility in how we respond to life’s challenges.
The Origins of Woven
Solutions Starting at Home
Woven was founded in 2023 and began as a wellness practice serving older adults. The inspiration for this work came from my grandmother, Nonna, whose experience with arthritis and chronic pain shaped my understanding of how health challenges can affect not only the body, but also identity, relationships, and overall well-being.
Working with older adults deepened my appreciation for the ways people adapt throughout life. I became increasingly interested in how individuals navigate change, loss, growth and the ongoing process of becoming themselves across different stages of development.
As Woven evolved, that curiosity expanded into my current direction in counseling and research. Today, my work is helping people navigate life transitions, strengthen relationships, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. The name Woven symbolizes my belief that our lives are shaped by many interconnected experiences, relationships, and environments, and that therapy can help us understand how those threads come together to create purpose and meaning.
